Whirlwind In The Thorn Tree

New Feat: Whirlwind in the Thorn Tree

Prerequisites:base attack bonus +16, Dex 17, Combat Expertise, Power Attack, Dodge, Mobility,Combat Reflexes,Spring Attack, Whirlwind Attack, Robilar’s Gambit

When you are prepared, attacking you is like trying to cut down a thorn tree in the middle of a windstorm. You react to attacks like a thorn tree whipping in a violent wind, lashing out at all opponents within reach. This leaves you even more vulnerable than just using the Robilar’s Gambit feat.

Benefits: Whenever you would gain an attack of opportunity from the use of the Robilar’s Gambit Feat, you may perform a Whirlwind Attack instead, Applying the result of one attack roll against each opponent you threaten. This counts as a single attack of opportunity. If you do so, the bonus to hit and damage that all opponents receive against you for the use of the Robilar’s Gambit feat increases to +6 instead of the normal +4, and the attacks you make deal half weapon damage, though magical effects, such as that from a weapon with the Flaming enhancement apply to each attack normally. If you are Power attacking for 10 or more, you deal full weapon damage on these attacks. Precision damage, such as Sneak Attacks and Sudden Strikes may not be added to these attacks, even if your opponent is denied their dexterity bonus to AC, or otherwise unable to defend against the attack. You may make this special attack as many times in a single round as you gain an attack of opportunity for the use of the Robilar’s Gambit feat, Limited by the number of Attacks-of-opportunity you may make in a round. Resolve your attack of opportunity after your foe’s attack as normal.

Normal: Whirlwind attack: When you use the full attack action, you can give up your regular attacks and instead make one melee attack at your full base attack bonus against each opponent within reach. When you use the Whirlwind Attack feat, you also forfeit any bonus or extra attacks granted by other feats, spells, or abilities (such as the Cleave feat or the haste spell). Robilar’s Gambit: At the start of your action, you can adopt a fighting stance that exposes you to harm but allows you to take advantage of your opponents’ exposed defenses as they reach in to attack you. Anyone who strikes at you gains a +4 bonus on attack rolls and damage rolls against you. In return, they provoke attacks of opportunity from you each time they swing. Resolve your attack of opportunity after your foe’s attack.

Special: A Fighter may select Whirlwind in the Thorn Tree as a Fighter Bonus Feat.
